TitleRecords of Chief Superintendent Wain's Inquiry Team, South Yorkshire Police
DescriptionThis series consists of records which relate to South Yorkshire Police's Internal Inquiry into the Hillsborough Disaster. The findings were submitted in a report to the Lord Justice Taylor Inquiry.

This was overseen by Chief Superintendent Wain, South Yorkshire Police. It started on 24 April 1989 and finished with the completion of the Coroner's Resumed Inquest. An internal inquiry was standard procedure and ran in parallel to the West Midlands Police investigation.

The documents in this series were deposited together and as such have been catalogued as belonging together. However, it has not been deduced whether or not all of these documents were used for the production of South Yorkshire Police's Submission to the Lord Justice Taylor Inquiry. For example POL/10/14 contains records which are unrelated to the Hillsborough Disaster.
