TitleJudicial Review
DescriptionIn a letter dated 18 December 1989 the Director of Public Prosecution made the decision not to exercise his power to take over and discontinue the Private Prosecution (POL/22/4/1/3). In March 1999 David Duckenfield and Bernard Murray requested leave from the Private Prosecution to seek a Judicial Review of that decision.

In February 1999 the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police sought a Judicial Review of the South Yorkshire Police Authority's decision to discontinue funding the defences of Duckenfield and Murray in the Private Prosecution as well as their application for the Judicial Review against the DPP (POL/22/4/2/1).

The records in this series relate to these Judicial Reviews, including draft Judgements, correspondence between solicitors, South Yorkshire Police Authority and South Yorkshire Police.
