Description | These recordings include the handheld footage of taken footage taken by the South Yorkshire Police Underwater Search team. The Underwater search team took video footage of various incidents around the ground before the start of the match and during the Disaster, including the Leppings Lane terraces, the interior of the gymnasium when it was being used as a temporary casualty centre and mortuary, along with footage of the terrace and the area between the back of the West Stand and the turnstiles after the disaster happened. These tapes were used during the Coroner's Inquest.
West Midlands Police gave the recordings the reference VRM. The original VHS recordings were copied onto U-Matic tapes by West Midlands Police which were subsequently used to create full and working VHS copies during the police investigation. The U-Matic tapes have been digitised.
