AdminHistory | The church was dedicated, but not consecrated, in 1910, as a chapel of ease to St George, Brinsworth. Before this, services had been held in a small iron church, known as St Faith's, on the same site. This later became a Sunday school and parish room. It was attached to a burial ground which has been in use since 1886.
Baptisms at St Mary's were entered into St George's registers. St Mary's was briefly licensed for marriages in 1945 during the renovation of St George's (the entries can be found in St George's register for that date) and then again in 1956.
The church is located on St Mary's Road and is in the Rotherham Deanery. |
