AdminHistory | The church of St Mary, Greasbrough was built in 1828, at an expense of £6,000, towards which the Parliamentary Commissioners granted £2,000, and the Earl Fitzwilliam the remainder, together with the site. Previously, a chapel had served the parish, for which records survive in this collection dating back to the eighteenth century. Greasbrough remained a chapelry in the parish of Rotherham until c. 1849. The parish was formed out of Rotherham, All Saints. The church is situated on Church Street, Greasbrough and is in the Rotherham Deanery. |
