RefNoPR68
TitleSheffield, Holy Trinity, Darnall, Anglican Parish
AdminHistoryThe foundation stone of Darnall church was laid on 1 April 1839, and until December 1844, when Darnall became a separate parish, it was a chapel-of-ease to Christ Church, Attercliffe. It was consecrated in October 1845. In 1975, the building was found to be structurally unsafe and was closed in October of that year and demolished. For some time, services were held in the adjoining school, until this was damaged by fire in September 1977. Thereafter, services were held in other churches in the parish until the new ecumenical Church of Christ in Darnall, built on the site of Holy Trinity, was opened in January 1980. Holy Trinity was in the Attercliffe deanery.
