Anne Talbot (nee Herbert) was the Dowager Lady Talbot, widow of Francis, the eldest son of the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury, who had died in 1582. The property which her brother-in-law the 7th Earl was to have in return for annual payments comprised land and revenues in Kimberworth, Rotherham, Glossop, and Simmondley, including the college house in Rotherham. |
