AdminHistory | George Walker, of Hillfoot and later Southey Green, was a postman in Sheffield before and after World War Two. During the war he served as a gunner with the 113th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment of the Royal Artillery, and saw active service at Arnhem and in Belgium and France. He witnessed the liberation of Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945, and received the Service Medal from the Queen after the war. |
