TitleBBC Radio Sheffield
DescriptionCD-R copy of various features [1972 - 1986] relating to Park Hill Flats amalgamated from five separate original Radio Sheffield reel-to-reel tape recordings (with one new additional 2008 recording) (CD running time: 35 minutes 28 seconds in total):

1. Report on how people felt about living in high rise flats. Sep 1972. (Begins at 0:00, duration 1:42) (taken from tape with original reference SY425/7209/2).

2. A pilot scheme aimed at cutting down hooliganism and vandalism by young people who live in council flats has been started in Sheffield. The scheme offers what is known as intermediate treatment to young offenders and to potential offenders living in the Hyde Park flats complex. And, as Geoff Hibbert reports, it is hoped to extend the scheme to other areas. 25 Jun 1979 (Begins at 1:44, duration 1:48) (taken from tape with original reference SY425/7906/12).

3. Dr Patrick Nuttgens, Director of Leeds Polytechnic and former professor of architecture at the University of York, speaks about Park Hill Flats, 21 Jan 1986 (Begins at 3:32, duration 3:40) (taken from tape with original reference SY425/8601/22).

4. Peter Harrison reports from Park Hill Flats, Nov 1973 (Begins at 7:14, duration 1:46) (taken from tape with original reference SY425/8807/13).

5. Member of the first family to live at Park Hill Flats (son of the caretaker) recalls his memories with Rony Robinson, Mar 2008 (begins at 9:01, duration 6:06). Note: this is evidently an additional recording for which Sheffield Archives does not hold a corresponding original tape.

6. Rony Robinson discussion on Park Hill Flats, Jan 1986 (Begins at 15:11, duration 20:22) (taken from tape with original reference SY425/8601/10).
