DescriptionThey arrived at Derby but the town was so full they went on to Burton. On Sunday went to the new church there and found a “pious and impressive preacher Mr French”. Went on to Birmingham and at Lichfield Mr Montgomery was much pleased with Chantrey’s monument in the cathedral. At Alcester he began the Bible meetings; there was a numerous attendance with Major Stratton in the chair and they met Dr Steinkopf. Went on to Evesham, then Worcester and then to Great Malvern. From there will go to Ledbury, Ross, Hereford, Kington and Hay. Dr Steinkopf introduced them to Mr and Mrs Atkinson and Mr Atkinson mentioned Mr Montgomery to Lady Littleton who has asked him to call. Possibly may visit Wales later. Weather very wet.
