Description	Microfilm copies of the Bishops Transcripts of parish registers for parishes now in South Yorkshire. No attempt has been made in this list to indicate the gaps which occur in the Bishop's Transcripts for most parishes. Full details of the transcripts extant for each parish may be found in 'A Handlist of Parish Register Transcripts in the Borthwick Institute of Historical Research' by N.K.M. Gurney (Borthwick Institute 1976). A copy of this is available in the searchroom. The original Bishops Transcripts are held at the Borthwick Institute for Archives in York.
