Attercliffe has always been a meeting and resting place for travellers though this may change with local authority plans to delelop the area. Debate covers the problems and life style of the travellers in modern society.

Band 2. Schools. Report on the City Council delegation from Education including councillors, to trhe Treasury to put the case for urgently needing money. Covers the very bad state of many schools in Sheffield and the amount of money needed to repair and make safe a number of the buildings.

Band 3. Department of Health and Social Security. Gordon Hammersley (SCCAU) talks about the new questionaire to be used by the DHSS to reduce the numbers claiming benefit. Describes questions and care needed in answering them.

Band 4. Housing. Peter Kenny talks about Barnsley's achievements in housing over the years despite many problems. Discusses new shelter schemes, lack of high rise blocks and increasing numbers of elderly tenants and very old houses. Howard Brothers case is mentioned.
