Description | A collection of aerial views covering most of the county of South Yorkshire, surveyed at different times during the period 1947 - 1973.
Summary description: There is patchy coverage of surveys flown by the RAF in the immediate post war period, with oddments photographed in later years.
There are two main series of verticals which cover most of the county, both surveyed by Meridian Airmaps Ltd in 1966-1969 and 1971-1973.
Both the Meridian series omit all, or a substantial part of the Peak Park area within the county. There are, however, separate surveys by Meridian in 1968 (1:10,800) and by Hunting Surveys Ltd in 1973 (1:10,000), both of which cover the peak Park area.
