Description | Core Group: the main coordinating body, recognising the interlinkages between groups and synthesising their output. The Core Group controlled the main lines of activity of the subsidiary groups. There were two categories of subsidiary groups - 'Aspects Groups' and 'Common Task Groups'.
Aspects Groups: three aspect groups were set up - Economic, Social and Physical/Environmental. These were not deemed formal working parties although they met regularly. The Economic Aspect Group was concerned with the economic capabilities of the County, examining its performance in terms of investment, industrial structure, income levels, employment etc. The Social Aspects Group was responsible for examining the social and physical access of different social groups to the facilities and resources of the Metropolitan County. The Physical Aspect Group was primarily concerned with land use.
Common Task Groups: these included the Methods Common Task Group, Public Participation Common Task Group, Modelling and Simulation Common Task Group, Transport Common Task Group and the Doncaster Common Task Group. |
