DescriptionThe Treasury Board has ordered the reinstatement of Mr Fisher to the Commissioners of Customs at Boston. He has not seen Venner (?) yet. Mr Paul Wentworth has seen him regarding the affair of Mr - Rindge whose papers were not layed before the Board of Trade before Sir John had written to Lord Hillsborough. Rockingham advises caution in dealing with Lord Hillsborough. Rockingham pleased to hear of Sir John's conduct in keeping things quiet in New Hampshire. Wishes 'that the Colonists would adopt a more temperate conduct'. Prospect of them being severely taxed now not so imminent.
