Minutes also record donation and sick claims. Donation claims detail the member's name, employer's name, date of discharge/suspension from employment and the donation benefit to be given whilst signing the Vacant Book [the Branch had resolved at its first meeting that this book would be kept at the Hallamshire Coffee House, London Road South]. There is a significant increase in the number of such claims during the early 1920s.
