Description | The Northern Intermediate Football League was conceived as a league for ex-schoolboys (prior to them reaching the age when they could be signed as professionals) and was proposed at a meeting held on 4th April 1949 at the Griffin Hotel, Boar Lane, Leeds, at which there were representatives of the following clubs in attendance: Barnsley Bradford City Burnley Bury Halifax Town Huddersfield Town Hull City Leeds United Lincoln City Manchester City Middlesborough Rotherham Stockport County. |
