DescriptionTwo engrossments of a Lease by the Dean and Canons of Windsor to Francis Norris of Chidoake, Dorset, gentleman, of the coppice or wood known as Boviall Coppice or Boviall Wood, Membury, containing 16 acres or thereabouts, for a term of 21 years from Michaelmas immediately prior to the date thereof, at the annual rent of 20s., payable at Michaelmas in each year. Covenants by the Lessee: (i) to pay all duties, payments and charges both ordinary and extraordinary payable in respect of the demised premises; (ii) to keep and yield up in repair the house then recently built on the demised premsies and all mounds, fences and enclosures of the demised premises; and (iii) not to alienate the demised premises (except by will) without the prior consent under seal of the Lessors. Proviso that if the rent should have remained unpaid for thirty days, or if the Lessee should have alienated the demised premises (except by will) without the prior consent under seal of the Lessors, the term thereby granted should cease and be determined. Agreement and declaration that the Lessee was trustees for Mary Longe (wife of Joseph Longe formerly of Membury, yeoman) and Alexander Longe and Francis Longe (sons of Joseph Longe) during the term thereby granted.
