Includes letters regarding loans of specimens including tea plants for a model Indian tea garden, and specimens of liberica and arabica coffee. Includes letters regarding acquiring specimens following the Exhibition for the Kew Economic Museum, including Japanese, Chinese and Venezuelan exhibits. Includes letter regarding the fruit specimens of Charles Ottley Groom [styled as the Prince of Mantua and Montferrat [Montserrat].

Volume also includes papers regarding the International Inventions Exhibition 1885, and letters relating to Thiselton-Dyer's activities as a juror. Includes letter by Albert Edward, Prince of Wales [President of the International Health Exhibition 1884, and of the International Inventions Exhibition, 1885]. Includes printed advertisement for 'John Smith's Imperishable Stratford Labels'.
