Includes information regarding proposals to secure him a new post, his death, the sale of his herbarium to the British Museum [through the arrangements of Daniel Oliver and Joseph Hooker], and the sale of Hance's herbarium cabinets and library. Includes letters to Joseph Hooker and Thiselton-Dyer, with letters from Thiselton-Dyer, Oliver, Morris, and the signature of Joseph Hooker. Includes correspondence between Kew, the Foreign Office, and W H Flower of the British Museum of National History. With letters from Charlotte Page Hance, and Charles Ford. Volume contains a copy of 'Letters of Administration with Exemplification of Will and Codicil Annexed', and auction catalogue by Sotheby, Wilkinson ad Hodge for Hance's Library (Ff120-136). Includes - (Ff9-11) Obituaries - (F32) Insurance document for shipping books and specimens from Amoy to London - (Ff 149-151) Correspondence regarding the purchase of Hance’s books for Kew’s library.
