HistoryBroadway was superintendent of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Trinidad and Tobago in 1888. He was later the curator of the Botanic Gardens of Grenada (1894-1905) and for the Royal Botanic Gardens of Trinidad and Tabago (1910-1915). In addition Broadway was also employed as assistant botanist in Trinidad (1815-1822) and worked as a gardener at Kew Gardens. Broadway collected plant specimens in the West Indies, Venezuela and French Guiana [Guyana].
