HistoryChairman of the family paper-making firm John Dickinson and Co Ltd, and collector of scientific objects, in particular astrolabes. Founder of the History of Science Museum, offering his collection of scientific objects to Oxford University in 1922. In 1925 the 'Lewis Evans Collection' opened to the public, changing its name to the 'Museum of the History of Science' in 1935. In 2018 it changed its name to the History of Science Museum.
