Dates and Places	Henry Stevens, b. 8 Feb 1843; d. 11 Jun 1925.
History	Henry Stevens was a collector, amateur conchologist and horticulturist, and photographer. He took out his first auctioneer's licence in 1863, and under his ownership Stevens remained the major British clearing house for natural history collections for the rest of the century and beyond. The business closed down in the 1940s.
