HistoryA British Liberal Statesman who served as Foreign Secretary from 1905 to 1916. In 1918, he became the president of the League of Nations and in 1919 was appointed Ambassador to the United States. From 1923 to 1924, he served as leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Lords, after which he resigned from politics and became the Chancellor of the University of Oxford until his death.
