HistoryGeorge Russell was a horticulturalist, best known for his work developing the Russell Hybrid Lupins. He worked as a gardener and went on to experiment with Lupins when he was in his fifties. Aged 79, he exhibited at Chelsea and was awarded the Veitch Memorial Medal in 1937 by the Royal Horticultural Society.
