History	Charles Horne was the head gardener at Kew Gardens (7 Jul 1856- 2 Feb 1858). He was later recommended by William Hooker to work at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Trinidad and Tobago where he worked as an assistant of William Purdie for 23 years (1858-1881).
