Description | The first British Empire Games were held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from 16 - 23 August 1930. The games were attended by 11 countries, with 400 athletes competing in 6 sports: Athletics, Bowls, Boxing, Rowing, Swimming (including Diving) and Wrestling. Scotland sent a team of 19 athletes and won a total of 10 medals including 2 golds won by Dunky Wright (Marathon) and Jim Rolland (Boxing, Lightweight). |
