Description | Anderson's 1974 film version of David Storey's In Celebration was one of a number of British plays transferred to the screen by American producer Ely Landau for his American Film Theatre series. Anderson first directed the play, about the return of three sons to the family home for their parent's 40th wedding anniversary, at the Royal Court Theatre in 1969 (LA 3/15). The original cast (which included Alan Bates, Brian Cox and James Bolam) reunited for the film and David Storey wrote the screenplay.
