TitleIs That All There Is?
DescriptionIn 1992 BBC Scotland commissioned Anderson to produce a documentary 'self-portrait'. The film follows a 'typical' day in Anderson's life and starts as Anderson starts the day. A bath, a trip to the shops, visits from friends and family and working meetings follow. The film ends with Anderson and friends on a boat on the Thames, scattering the ashes of the actors Rachel Roberts and Jill Bennett into the river. Is That All There Is? was the last film made by Anderson and is a poignant portrait of the artist as an old man, full of his sly humour and simmering anger at the injustices in the world.
Material relating to the film includes production notes, shooting schedules and delivery script; correspondence with production company (Yaffle Films) and BBC Scotland; correspondence with friends and colleagues invited to attend ceremony for Rachel Roberts and Jill Bennett on the River Thames; promotional material, press cuttings and reviews of the film; and notes made by Anderson for a speech he gave at the ceremony for Roberts and Bennett on the River Thames. There is an extensive photographic record of the film with colour and black and white photographs of the shooting of the documentary and the ceremony on the Thames
