Description | From the 1970s onwards Lindsay Anderson employed a secretary who worked from an office in his home. His office contained a large volume of working papers relating to day-to-day business and planned and proposed projects. Carbon copies of all Anderson's outgoing typed letters are included in the extensive correspondence files present. There are several distinct series of files, arranged alphabetically A - Z, by name and by subject. These files contain correspondence with colleagues, friends and fans with Anderson's replies providing his thoughts on opinions on a wide variety of topics. Other 'working files' include those relating to proposed film projects (which were never made); invitations to film festivals and other events; and management of the Royal Court Theatre. Scrapbooks and files of newspaper cuttings collected by Anderson as subject matter and inspiration for his own projects are also present as are office diaries and notebooks recording appointments and meetings |
